It was a pretty vicious event, but it also built up my confidence for surviving Fenrir's Mayhem coming up. As always, I. Ramirez of Valkyrie Photography did a beautiful job of capturing both the glorious moments and the visceral moments, which included at least one swear word.
WOD 1: Walk 400 meters with barbell in rack position, thruster every 15th step, 5 burpees for every time the barbell hits the ground.
WOD 2: Row 600 meters, 15x(tire flips, hammer strikes, incline pushups), row 300 meters, 12x(tire flips, hammer strikes, incline pushups), row 600 meters, 9x(tire flips, hammer strikes, incline pushups).
WOD 3: 3 rounds of 10xkettlebell swings, run to the wall, burpee, climb over the wall, burpee broad jump to next wall, wall walk into handstand position or as close as possible, shuttle run to cones, sprint back to start.
The (mis)adventures and thoughts of an aspiring master archer, lifter, and fantasy author who happens to be irresistibly drawn towards wolves, raptors, and parrots. They may say there's no such thing as Paradise or Perfection, yet I'm still searching for them. Why do I keep searching? A voice speaks to me and says: "Search for Paradise and aspire for Perfection"...

Sled Fun and Member's Mayhem WOD List
This was from a Saturday WOD a few weeks ago. Pushing the lightly weighted sled was the easiest part of the WOD. Photo courtesy of I. Ramirez, our in-house professional photographer.
Today's Member's Mayhem involved three WODs where I didn't do particularly well time-wise, but I did survive in one piece and put up one heck of a fight in the absolute bottom division. More pictures will be coming in once I. Ramirez posts her pictures!

Iron and Wood
And then I spent some quality time with Xibalba. So once upon a time, 10 years ago, someone taught me how to shoot a compound bow. Today, I got to work with him on his shooting form and heckle him a bit.
My old mentor is setting up his shot nicely... it's a bit weird being the mentor, but it's also a lot of fun seeing someone expand beyond their Klingon-style training wheels :)
And then I spent some time working on my own form as well. I move my head a lot and apparently my hair was a little off today!

Splinter by Xibalba
The probability was pretty low to start with, even at only 9 meters (10 yards to you American system users), but it happened.
And then there was today's WOD... which was as follows:
I had to scale the WOD as follows:
- 2 rope climbs became 5 rope up-downs (started lying flat on the floor, pulled myself into a standing position, pulled myself down the rope again)
- Three burpees, bag, and body over wall became 10 sandbag squats + burpees.
I attempted to climb the wall, but realized my right hand isn't ready for the pull/push involved, plus I didn't want splinters or risk another spectacular fall. I was allowed to use a box, but with me not feeling safe trying to get up and down, I chose to do the scaled down version.

I'm looking forward to Fenrir's Mayhem V!
