Members' Mayhem VI, Installation 2/n

More pictures have been posted, courtesy of Isabelle Victoria Photography. She is an amazing photographer and athlete, especially when it comes to Olympic lifts! She caught me in a lot of my overhead squats as well as a few other odds and ends. I'm just hoping someone DID catch me on my 95 lb hang-power clean & jerk!

Top of a snatch to get the bar into a good overhead position. It's only 35 lbs, but when I'm trying to get increasing reps in 3 minutes, that weight certainly hits hard!

Ring row. My form isn't particularly good, but I think it was also towards the end of my set and my core is *fried*, plus I went a little too far out.

WOD 3: The 350 meter row to begin a simulated Viking raid to avenge myself...
And the wall ball thruster at only 20 lbs, but still a good challenge after getting nicely gassed on the rower.
And then the 10 lb ball slam to simulate bashing down a wall or bashing in some skulls...

Picture from December

Not sure which WOD this was from but it may have been either DT or this other one that involved deadlifts and pull-up attempts with rubber bands.

Members' Mayhem VI, Installaion 1/n

I finished in 5th overall although I did tie for 2nd on the clean & jerk 1RM in 15.2B (WOD 2) with 95 lbs. Before the action began though, we did do our routine flag run.

And then we have our after picture to show that we did indeed survive in one piece and with our dignities intact!

Foundation Training

Courtesy of J. Geering at CrossFit Iron Legion. Baggy shirt while doing foundation training is NOT very flattering!

And then the real fun began once we got a bit of a warmup... 200 meter relay runs, reverse burpees, (assisted) pull-ups, kettle-bell swings, wall balls (read: trying to not catch the ball on my face or feet), overhead lunges, single-arm kettle-bell swings, and more 200 meter relay runs and reverse burpees.

Experiment in Progress

Let's see what will happen on this little experiment I am starting... today was just the initiation phase.

Broken Nock

I defied the odds and broke a nock on one of my cedar arrows at 18 meters.

My final end of practice. Not too shabby! The real trick will be to maintain this level of performance throughout a tournament!

Preparation for Indoor Season

As long as I keep focused on my form and make sure to deal with any shaft subluxations, I should be in pretty good shape for both the USA Archery and the NFAA Indoors.

Exit 2015, Enter 2016

New Years' Eve was a blast with Sir Erika and many of my fellow members of An Crosaire.

 ]
And then New Years' Day had me exploring the Cross Florida Greenway. I picked the 49th Ave entrance and went to the Land Bridge.  I was tempted to either go all the way to Highway 484 on the Shangri-La trail or towards Santos past the Land Bridge, but the little jaunt just north of Marion Oaks to I-75 was still a good 4.3ish miles.
