Olympic Weightlifting Drills as the Masked Avatar

I probably look a bit more like a Waterbender because of my blue headband to help keep my hair out of my face, but I think I've got more of the Earthbender movement patterns and the Firebender aggression.

Christmas 2020 Edition

I am embarrassed to say I have lost several kilograms of muscle, gained even more kilograms of fat, and lost ALL of the progress I have made as well as missing an extremely rare opportunity for weightlifting, but hopefully I can actually vindicate myself and get my body composition to something a little more acceptable.

Drills and Drills and Drills!

I have been getting quite a few different drills from the various masterminds who have been working with me. I'll start with the weightlifting drills, which have been more of a technique focus given my recent challenges with random flare-ups.  Apparently my snatch pulls have made some significant improvements according to the mad genius!

I still have some form faults in my hang from knee snatches, which includes my knees initiating the motion instead of the hips, which sends my hips up early and takes away a lot of my power and makes it harder for me to get under the bar.  Looks like I am remembering what the mad genius is teaching me!

I do have a tendency to shift my right foot in anticipation of the jerk when I do my dip, and apparently, I do need to remember to lower my elbows after the front squat prior to actually starting my jerk. That being said, Olympic weightlifting is always a work in progress!

And then, there's the archery portion of my training...

Expansion Work...

I have been working on a handful of drills given to me by my coach, T. Muntyan, as well as incorporating various bits of extra wisdom from my dear friend Coach J.

Gator Cup 2020 Eliminations

My coach, T. Muntyan, is giving me a reminder of how I'm supposed to maintain a controlled and smooth expansion. Her cues remind me greatly of Coach J. Philyaw's methods with me in Olympic weightlifting, and there were several times I could hear BOTH of them telling me simultaneously during my shoot today.
