Peer Gynt Progress Plus Some Old Timeyness

Old stuff: Bach - mostly from the Little Book of beginner pieces.

And then there's part of the Peer Gynt Suite.  I'm hoping to have learned all 8 movements and memorized the majority of them.  So far, I have one movement memorized (Solveig's Lied), and I would say six of the eight are in pretty good shape.  I'm having one heck of a time with "In the Hall of the Mountain King" and "Ase's Death".

Above: Morning Mood from Peer Gynt.

Above: Peer Gynt's Homecoming.  This was a really tough one for me and I still have a few segments that need a lot of work, but this is the first time I played the ENTIRE movement in one sitting without having to stop and run through certain passages.

From January 14: Members' Mayhem

All photographs courtesy of I. Ramirez of Valkyrie Photography.

WOD 1: Running... lots of running. And squats. And more running. And situps. And more running. And sandbag push presses.  With a 27 minute time cap, it was definitely a killer.  I didn't make it to the final 200 meter run, the wall balls, or the burpee, split jump, and something else AMRAP.

WOD 2: No time cap... 8 deadlifts, 40 calorie row, reverse burpee, 4 rope pull ups, burpee, 80 single unders, 50 ball slams, burpee, 80 single unders, reverse burpee, 4 rope pull ups, 40 calorie row, and 8 deadlifts.

And then there was WOD 3... no time cap... 3 rounds for time of 10 ground to shoulders with the sand bag, 200 meter bear hug walk with sand bag, 20 ring rows, and 20 strict overhead presses.

And then we survived! Apparently my brain got rattled pretty hard by the event with me looking the wrong way during the group photo!

And a bonus set of pictures from Barbell Club with none other than the amazing coach T. Dreaver leading us.  Of course, I seem to get caught at awkward moments!

   80 air squats
   600 meter run
   60 sit-ups
   400 meter run
40 KB push presses (35 lbs)
   200 meter run
   20 wall balls (8 lbs)
And if any time remains, 10 burpees, 10 split jumps, and 10 hollow rock AMRAP.

- WOD 2, for time:
   8 deadlifts (95 lbs)
   40 calorie row
10 burpees and 80 single unders
   1 reverse burpee and 4 rope up/downs
   80 slam balls (8 lbs)
   1 reverse burpee and 4 rope up/downs

- WOD 3, 3 rounds for time:
   10 sand bag ground-to-shoulders (35 lbs)
200 meter bear hug sandbag carry
   20 strict ring rows

This was the pre-Mayhem picture... We're ready to crush some WODs!

We survived all three WODs! No casualties even if some of us may have gotten pulverized.  The WODs were incredibly fun, but brutal.

Snatch!

This was courtesy of I. Ramirez of Valkyrie Photography.  This showed up on the WOD page at my box.  It's only 35 lbs, but I think it was one of my better reps.

Old Timey in F Major

I am in possession of a classroom with an actual piano, therefore, I will make good use of it.  I had to do Clementi's Sonatina #4 (F Major) in 3 separate takes because my camera decided to start blipping and farting in my general direction when I attempted to record longer pieces.
