More Hypertrophy Progress

Still looking disturbingly small and feminine but making some progress are things are slowly coming in... Really wanting to get those shoulders, biceps, and triceps to really pop out and pack on some serious strength and mass along with my back.  Also really want to get that vascularity to build up so I don't look like one of those squishy girly things!

Charity Shoot 2014-Oct-18

Sometimes even I'll do altruistic things every now and then. Today's good deed: attending a friend's son's charity shoot so he can have a better shot at making the USA Junior Dream Team in Olympic archery. I don't think he's old enough to do the 2016 Olympics but he certainly has a shot at the 2020 Olympics if he keeps working on it!

The Bear at full draw with his hunting compound bow. Think the draw length might be a touch long on him but as long as it works and as long as he can hit accurately and precisely enough, it's all good.
After the shot... looks like he's finally starting to use back tension with the compound even if he's using a caliper release.
And I think he just hit the trigger because things are starting to move at soon-to-be Warp Factor 9! Not the world's biggest fan of caliper releases but heck, they DO work!
Some of the prize goodies at the On Point Archery charity shoot for Tyler Levanduski, aspiring Olympic archer.
And some more art work for the charity shoot...
 Some more art work...
 And a really spectacular piece...
And there's also a bake sale and pizza for those who have an appetite. After all, 10 rounds of 3 arrows can be hunger-inducing!
 The On Point archery range...
Archers and spectators getting ready for action...
 I just like this riser.

And now... here's all the cool groupings. My arrows have silver fletches and blue nocks, the Bear has the orange fletches and white nocks.

The Silver Wolf Makes a Brief Return

The longbow made a bit of a return yesterday, mostly because I knew I was NOT going to be in any condition to shoot the Olympic recurve after Leg Day (tm) which also included work on my snatches and clean & jerks, which left my back and shoulders tender. Plus I just miss the freedom and aesthetics of the longbow! All in all though, even if my accuracy sucked, my precision got even better as a whole after spending some time with the clicker.  That being said, I think I'm going to still focus most heavily on Olympic recurve but it sure felt great shooting the longbow again!
Only 50 meters and only 3 arrows because I had a gaggle of snap-shooters next to me who complained that I took too long to even shoot my 3 arrows!
And I'm back home at the Fred Bear archery range with the Orange and Blue Archery team. I miss my old team-mates even if I'm no longer eligible to compete with them unless I decide to go back to school yet again as a full-time student! Someone want to fund me for... oh, I don't know... a PhD in exercise science? A MFA in creative writing? A MS in sports medicine? Something where I get to work on human physiology with an emphasis on the mind-body connection?
Only 20 meters but I guess I still have some competence left in me with the longbow! And it felt great just being among brains where the age difference is less than 20 years once more!

And Out of the Withered Leaves Rises the Firewolf...

It is official - I am now a red belt in Tae Kwon Do. I still wonder how on earth I made it this far with all my random mishaps but I did! Now the journey to the coveted black belt continues - still have high red and Poom belts to go and it'll be at least a year before I test for black belt. Admittedly I *am* nervous about the probability of having to break a board with a spinning hook kick or a jumping front snap kick or anything that involves me actually fully leaving the ground!

Yes, I broke the board with my own bare hands with a palm strike. Not exactly my best break, but still one that I took on my first shot. My proudest breaks to date are still my roundhouse and spinning roundhouse kicks, although my knife-hand strike and back kick were pretty good too!
