The pictures from Valkyrie Photography have finally arrived from the Brick City Open 2024 at Iron Legion Strength & Combat! I had excellent coaching from R. Allen leading into this, and other than looking like a severely bloated potato, I was very happy with my 237.5 kg total, although that total is only the beginning. I can't wait for my next Powerlifting America event!
The (mis)adventures and thoughts of an aspiring master archer, lifter, and fantasy author who happens to be irresistibly drawn towards wolves, raptors, and parrots. They may say there's no such thing as Paradise or Perfection, yet I'm still searching for them. Why do I keep searching? A voice speaks to me and says: "Search for Paradise and aspire for Perfection"...

Mindful Mobility...
I did not die doing something at Iron Legion that didn't involve combat training, Olympic weightlifting, or powerlifting.
This was all after experimenting with possible Gator Cup setups...

Brick City Open 2024 1/n
This was my first powerlifting meet ever. I have already done a good handful Olympic weightlifting events, but powerlifting is a whole new beast, and it is tons of fun!
Thank you to all the fellow athletes and the audience members who got pictures and footage of me at the Brick City Open at Iron Legion!
My three squat attempts were all successful at 67.5 kg, 75 kg, and 77.5 kg
I was successful on 2/3 attempts of bench press, where I missed a 47.5 kg after a long fight. My successful attempts were 40 and 45 kg. Getting used to the verbal commands was pretty tough!
And then there was the deadlift. My three attempts were 95 kg, 105 kg, and 115 kg. I was originally going to go a bit more conservative on my third attempt, but 105 kg felt so good that we decided to just go for it, 5 kg short of my absolute personal best of 120 kg.
Turns out I was alone in my division as the only Masters 1 in the women's 76 kg weight class!
More photos to come as they arrive!
