Does Death Make an Artist?

First cut at "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijian" by Nightwish. My hands and wrists aren't hurting, so things DO look promising. Suffice to say, there IS a master healer continue to work his magic on me from afar.

And then there was a bit of lifting fun. As always, the master healer / musician / tactician had many words of wisdom for me regarding my form and timing. I have a tendency to start pulling a little too early and I don't always remember to get my chest up in time.

And of course, there's the gratuitous archery stuff with the Flame of the West, Anduril.

And a few others from earlier this week...

Gratuitous Fun at Gator Bowmen with Anduril

So I couldn't find my string-walking tab until I returned to my vehicle. I ended up focusing on Olympic recurve.

Drills, Drills, and More Drills!

I have been working on a mixture of Olympic weightlifting and archery drills, with more work on the weightlifting due to logistical issues revolving around work.

I am on an Olympic hypertrophy program as part of healing from my left knee issues as well as a myriad of other injuries.  Here are some examples of the drills I have been doing:

And then there are my archery drills with the recurve, Anduril... today was emphasis on 70 meters as both barebow and Olympic recurve.

Members' Mayhem Addendum: WOD 2

We just got some footage of WOD 2, where my partner and I were doing synchronized power snatches.

Members' Mayhem Fun

So I partnered up with someone other than my usual folks, but all I can say is she rose up to the occasion and kept me alive even if she gives me all the credit for eating most of the burpees in WOD 3.

Also, two clips from WOD 3 aka 7 minutes to get our individual sleds 200 meters and then finish out the rest of our time to maximize burpees.

Olympic Recurve Fun

Part of my multiple tools for addressing form issues includes the full Olympic setup on Anduril. I did have some issues with consistent anchor and release.  I also have some issues with collapse, but I think it was more from fatigue, courtesy of this morning's WOD of death, which involved extreme volumes of both snatches and ring rows.

And apparently I am starting to look the part too!

And a gratuitous picture from filming some clean pulls to address some form concerns...
